Use up those Frozen Berries!

Hello!  We hope everyone is having a wonderful winter. What a mild one it has been!

Here is a recipe from our website... it's a great one to use up those frozen berries, unless you're like me and they only last one month into winter. :)

Apple Berry Breakfast Crisp

Serves 6

Topping:

1 cup quick cooking oatmeal, uncooked
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/3 cup margarine or butter, melted
2 tablespoons all purpose flour

Filling:

4 cups peeled & thinly sliced apples, about 4 apples
2 cups fresh or frozen strawberries
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

To prepare topping:

In a medium bowl, combine oatmeal, brown sugar, butter, and flour; set aside.

To prepare filling:

In a large bowl, combine apples, berries, brown sugar, orange juice concentrate, flour and cinnamon; stir until fruit is evenly coated.

Spoon filling into an 8-inch square glass baking dish.  Sprinkle topping evenly over fruit.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until apples are tender.
Serve warm with yogurt, if desired.
