And the winner is....
We couldn't help it!!! We had to choose two!
We had so many wonderful ideas submitted and after the 4 judge panel we have decided to go with two wonderful ideas. One of the ideas was submitted a few different times so we threw those names in a hat and drew the winner.
CONGRATULATIONS
Mindy with Decadent Creations for your idea of adding recipes
Ron Pippin for your "ask the expert" posts idea!

Christmas Time
Christmas wreaths, garlands, and trees are now at Unger's Farm Store!
See the pictures below of all the fun items we have!
Lovely centerpieces to add a little charm to your dinners with a candle holder in the center.
A Tribute... to the Tan Van
The Farmers' Market Season is officially over for Unger Farms. And I am so terribly sad to announce that life on the farm for the Tan Van is also over.
Look at this beauty....
Wall's are carpeted, AM radio only, limited power steering at best, and that color, ooooh that color! This beauty has been on the farm for a good 15+ years.

A Tour of the Farm Store: Wine and Local Goodies
Local Wine and Packaged Goodies
We absolutely love supporting local! So, at Unger's Farm Store we only sell local packaged foods and wine. You can find pepper jellies, kettle corn, peanut/almond butters, trail bars, bread/brownie mixes, and so much more! This has to be my favorite project in the winter, finding all the delicious local goodies to sell at the store. Of course we have to try them, and then maybe try some more. :) And there's the trips to tasting rooms to check out the amazing local wines we have in this beautiful area. It's almost too hard to choose which ones!
Check out the video below of the packaged foods/wine section and links and pictures below the video of what you can find in our store.

A Tour of the Farm Store: Gifts
"The Hole in the Wall" Tour
The gift section at Unger's Farm Store has so many things to offer. From recipe books and fancy measuring spoons, to fall scented candles and table runners, you can even find wall decor! Soon we will be adding all the Christmas decorations and gifts as well!
One of the best jobs we have out here on the farm is to do the shopping for the gift section. Whether it's scouring around the mall for good deals or shopping online with some hot chocolate on a rainy day. One of the challenges is finding items that meet everyone's tastes. We are finding that to be difficult but I do feel that the overall theme of the gift section meets most customers' styles. (I hope anyways!) My goal is to have a local section where you can find local artists/crafters pottery, paintings, figurines and the like. Always supporting local!
Below are a few pictures of the gift section at the Farm Store titled "The Hole in the Wall"... Enjoy!....

Freezing Berries Tutorial
Did you miss out on freezing berries? You're in luck! We still have some!!
Check out this tutorial on the best way to freeze berries...
I love freezing berries this way, blueberries especially because they keep their shape a little better and it's easy to take a handful (or two) out of a large bag for a quick snack.

Blueberry Pickles Recipe
Blueberry Pickles??? Yup, that's right... I haven't personally tried this one yet but it sounds absolutely delicious. And I think our Ochlockonee or Liberty Blueberries would be a perfect fit. They have just the right amount of tang and sweetness.
Here is the recipe: submitted to us by Marge Welch.
Blueberry Pickles
Ingredients:
2 quarts Blueberries
2 cups sugar (white, brown, or mixed)
1 1/2 cup vinegar (red wine, apple cider, rice wine, or mixed)
3 Tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp allspice
1/2 tsp ground cloves
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg

Passion
Friday afternoon, a cool and drizzly day on the farm, Matt comes out of his office and says "Laura, lets go for a drive around the farm!" He is an incredibly wonderful farmer, with a great amount of passion in his heart and whenever he's in the mood for a drive, I take him up on it.
Quality time with my pops is the best thing a girl can ask for.
